WHAT

The Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, in the context of its Plan Avanza for the development of the Information Society, aims as one of its goals to create a favourable environment, both for the development of digital content and for the effective exercise of intellectual property rights in the new digital environment.

 

Following last year’s positive experience, the Ministry is holding an International Conference on Intellectual Property in the Digital Environment on the 25th and 26th November 2008 in Madrid, as part of the Second International Forum on Digital Content, which is scheduled for the 25th to 27th November.

 

This Conference will deal with the challenges presently affecting the exercise of intellectual property rights. These challenges must be analyzed in depth, promoting dialogue among the main interested parties, aiming towards a convergence between the exercise of the intellectual property rights, the right of privacy and the technological development.

WHEN

The International Conference on Intellectual Property in the Digital Environment will be held on 25th and 26th November 2008 in Madrid, as part of the International Forum on Digital Content (FICOD 2008).
